Grecian Formula Consumer Reviews
Waste of money and time
By Ike from the USA, age 44, who has been using Grecian formula for three months:
So far, after 6 bottles of this stuff, nothing has happened. I was going to stop at 3 bottles, but I decided to give it more time. Instead of gray hair, now I have blonde hair...wtf? Never-ever-again!
Is anything happening
By Tom, age 58, who has been using Grecian formula for two weeks:
I followed the process and my hair isn't darker
IT WORKS FOR ME
By Tamara from California, age 48, who has been using Grecian formula 16 for three months:
I was curious about the chemicals in Grecian Formula 16 so I decided to put it in a search engine and I found these reviews. I didn't realize that it had lead in it until now but I have had no bad effects from the product. In fact it seems like my hair is finally growing. It DID make my grey hair go away. I'm not real big into washing my hair a lot because it is kind of dry and breaks off so I like to leave the natural oils in and just rinse it with hot water and use a little conditioner on the ends for detangling it. I am concerned about the lead and sulfur now and am thinking I may look for an alternative but I really like how the product works I just wish it didn't have lead in it. Bummer!
By Ron from Indiana, age 48, who has been using Grecian 16/Grecian Plus for two weeks:
I used this before but wasn't super happy with the smell. Well, I hate using hair dyes (even Touch of Grey) so I tried this again. Started with Formula 16 for about two weeks and the smell is kind of hard. Switched to Grecian Plus (foam) and it's better. Only shampoo once or twice a week and use baby shampoo. Gray is surely disappearing so I'm very happy with this product. Should be where I want within a week then I can just to maintenance. I honestly think it's the best to cover gray. I have no side-affects. I'm not sure if the foam is as potent as the liquid, but I live alone (for now) so smell is not an issue initially, but I started to wonder if others would notice, so I switched to the foam.
By Dan from New England, age 57, who has been using Grecian Hair Formula for one year:
I was hesitant to try Grecian Hair Formula for several reasons. The first was that the directions read that you shouldn't wash your hair for the first week or so. I am an avid runner and play sports almost everyday so I figured it wouldn't work for me. The second reason was that it was best applied in the morning... I shower both morning and at night before bed... I bought my first bottle a year ago and have been using it ever since...From the beginning, I still washed my hair everyday and only applied it at night 30 minutes before bedtime. It was a gradual process but by the time I had used about half a bottle, my gray hair was exactly the same color as my natural hair color. The awesome thing about this product is that your hair feels soft and conditioned. There are natural highlights throughout your hair...not that mono-toned shoe polish look you see when guys "color" their hair...The other great thing is that you just have to use the product 2x a week to maintain the color and shine. If you stop using it for a few weeks the grey starts to come back slowly and there are never any roots showing a distinction between the colored hair and the grey...it just fades naturally. I give this product 5 STARS out of 5!
By Marco from Brasil, age 62, who has been using Grecian New 2000 Formula for 3 years:
Eu estava usando a formula Grecin Nova Fórmula sem acetato de chumbo, agora não estou mais encontrando no mercado. Vocês pararam de fabricar?
By Mark from Illinois, age 56, who has been using Grecian Formula for 5 days:
This may not be fair to the product but I could only stand using it for a couple days. The smell was horrible. It may do what they say if you can stand the smell.
By Jim from South Carolina, age 65, who has been using Grecian Formula for several years:
Was wondering if anyone has had side effects from this product. Seems like when i use it i have high pitched noise in my head with head aches when used. I does work fair but not natural color.
Hardly worked and Hair Loss!
By JB, age 35, who has been using Grecian Formula 16 for six weeks:
Used the non-lead formula back in 2009 and stopped using it after about 6 weeks as I hardly noticed any difference in color restoration. Worse, what I did notice was several strands of hair falling off in the shower. Needless to say, I stopped using it and will never buy it again. I switched to Youthair almost a year later and is by far superior. White hair is gone, yet no hair loss.
Its a trash
By Tony, age 34, from Connecticut, who has been using Grecian formula for five months:
Don't buy this, its useless.
Grecian Formula is junk
By Sam from the USA, who has been using Grecian formula for one month:
It contains lead our blood stream. never does what it claims... i used it and no color, followed as described. it says you shouldn't shower more than once a week...it is a junk and should not be sold at all... trust me...someone should sue this company... thank you
By Brian from the UK, who has been using Grecian formula for 20 years:
The original formula was great, worked perfectly and you can tell from the length of time I used the product, I was very satisfied. The new formula is useless, it washes out when you wash your hair and leaves the result as grey as before use.
grecian no more
By John from Scotland, age 66, who has been using Grecian 2000 for two months:
i have been trying grecian 2000 for 2 months and it is really useless, my hair is still grey and shows no sign of changing in the near future, why does it not work? it used to years ago before they changed the formula, so it's grecian no more for me.....
Didn't work for me
By Scott from Long Island, age 25, who has been using Grecian formula for two months:
The box said that it would get rid of gray in a month. I used Grecian for 2 months and still had grays. Maybe it darkened a few hairs here and there, but the point is I still had grays when I wanted to get rid of them all. What is really ridiculous is that the directions tell you to try and not shampoo more than once a week. Who the hell only shampoos once a week?!! I'm trying Youthair now...hopefully that will be better.
By Jim from Gallipolis Ohio, age 69, who has been using Grecian formula 16 for approx two years:
About two years ago I got tired of using a messy woman's hair coloring product every two weeks. I asked a friend what he used to color his hair. He told me about Grecian formula 16. I followed the instructions (except for "not washing your hair for a week") I am very pleased with this product. My hair is the same color it was before I started graying. I use it every 2nd or 3rd day to maintain my color.
Grecian Formula Made My Hair Fall Out
By John from Massachusetts, age 54, who has been using Grecian formula for three weeks:
With Grecian Formula my grey did slowly turn to my natural hair color...but it also slowly made my hair fall out. By the third week of use, hair was falling out in globs on by comb. I've learned after the fact that the Formula uses a lead based chemical that is a poison and toxic if used too much. If you try Grecian, watch carefully for loss of hair. If it starts ...quit using right away!
Didn't work for me
By Bill Gloden, age 56, who has been using Grecian formula for two months:
I followed the directions carefully and used a whole bottle over a couple of months. Absolutely no change in color occurred (my hair was silver and still is). This was a very strange thing for me as the thought that it would not work never entered my mind because I had seen the commercials for many years. I even started out using a little less of the product the first few days because I was concerned that the change would be too noticeable too fast. I didn't need to worry about that after all.
It takes longer to work
By Robin, age 59, who has been using Grecian formula for seven years:
It has become increasingly more difficult to cover my grey hair with Grecian. Now I read that I am not the only consumer experiencing difficulties with this product. The bottle says it contains lead acetate but this stuff is much less efficient than it used to be. I thought that Grecian was becoming less effective on my hair due to the many years of its continued use or that my hair has grown too white to get covered but the reason might be the formula has changed. It is so weak that I am considering trying something else.
It doesn't work anymore
By John Townsend from Canada, age 55, who has been using Grecian formula for ten years:
I have used this product for years & have been quite satisfied with it.
Just recently however something has changed. The product simply doesn't work anymore.
