ReNature - works for me

by GreyHunk from Hungary, age 43, who has been using this product for 3 months by now:

After trying various hair-dye products, I found that I am allergic to PPD, the component used in most darker shade hair-dyes. As I also like my short beard, even the slightest allergic reaction or irritation renders a product unusable - even ones that claim to be OK on facial hair. So, as an option, I found ReNature that has no PPD and gave it a try. I also liked the fact that it seems to have one of the least scary ingredients. It does break up the outer "skin" of the hair as all permanent dyes do, but the synthetic pigment is most nature-like unlike the metallic ones in other anti-grey hair products, and no PPD as in pretty much all darker dyes. As an advantage I can read German and found the reviews promising: while it is not a solution for everyone, it seemed to work for people with my hair colour.

Strangely, the German official FAQ says it is OK to use it on facial hair, although "not specifically suggested", hinting to be careful not to get it into one's mouth of course. The Australian FAQ in English on the other hand says "no".

My hair is middle-dark brown, so I started with the medium variant as suggested on the products FAQ page. Good news: the allergy test showed no irritation at all. First I tried it on my beard - should a bad colour result appear it can easily be shaved off :-). At first the result seemed minimal, although fortunately I took some photos before and after, and it did get definitely somewhat darker. After learning the tips and tricks, such as it needs time to develop, multiple applications - up to 3-6 applications for darker hair - and combing helps to get the stuff around the hairs, I did see good results after the second or third application, leaving it on for 20 minutes as suggested for darker hair.

The application is easy, definitely lot less smell than dyes, which disappears with a GOOD rinse. Handheld showers that are common in Europe are excellent for a thorough rinse. The cream is easy to put on, comb in, doesn't drip, and doesn't stain the skin.

The effect is very natural, in fact it still shows that I am greying, but the overall look is a lot darker and younger. So, I started using it on my hair too. I can control the level of anti-grey effect by the frequency and/or the length of the application. In either "anti-grey" stage it does look natural on my hair.

The only problem I have is that I may need to switch to the dark variant, as my beard is short, and grows faster than the applications can take their effect. For some reason only the medium variant is in stores in my country, but I can either order it or pick up a couple of packets when I am in Germany. It is really a shame of the local distributor, but I cannot say it is excellent until I see the result with the dark version.

Overall, I think there is no product that suits everyone, for people especially with brownish hair, this product may be the best solution out there.

If you want to try it in parts of the world where it is not in stores, lila-se.de or unserekleineapotheke.de ships worldwide. The first webshop is available in English (well, partially...).
