Is it the same??

By Shadi from Lebanon, age 35, who has been using Viviscal for three months:

I've used vivscal since many many years ago and it was really effective at that time but couldn't afford buying it every month since I was a student so I started using a local made minoxidil 5% and it was great ..it didn't stop hair falling totally but made it vey much slower .. then I thought it would be great to use two products at the same time so I started using revivogen as well but it smelt bad with no great reslults after few months of using it.

I decided to start again with viviscal and bought 6 months supplement from canada .. after more than 3 months I can assure you that this viviscal can never be the same product that I've used long time ago .. it has zero effect and pureeee waste of money!.. I'm thinking about trying spectral DNC-L.

Viviscal works for me!

By S from Houston, who has been using Viviscal for two months:

I am African American and have always had very thick, medium length hair. After my (recent) 50th birthday, I noticed that my hair was starting to thin around my hairline and temples. Although my hair is so thick I was able to disguise it, I was mortified. I also begin to realize over the past 10 years that my overall hair growth was slowing down to nothing.

I stumbled across an ad for Viviscal in a popular fashion magazine and thought I'd give it a try. Within 2 weeks I could see the hair starting to grow back in around my temples and my husband kept telling me how soft my hair was. It's been almost 2 months now and my hair has noticeable grown about an inch.

Another great added bonus are my nails. They are so strong and beautiful that I have to file and shape them twice a week. People are constantly asking me are these my 'real nails'.

I know not all products work for everyone, but Viviscal works for me and I'll continue to pay the price :-)

Don't waste your money

By Rachel from the US, age 31, who has been using Viviscal for six months:

Yes, it probably is good for your hair, etc. However, for a lot less money you can buy Nori seaweed and this worked for me much better! I eat approximately 1/2 a sheet a day and my hair feels so good. It absorbs into my body quickly because it is food. I buy from whole foods. I was using Viviscal for months and noticing some improvement in my hair and it definitely grew faster but for the price seaweed is so much less expensive and much better for you. It has sooo many health benefits! Also, coconut oil is excellent and can also be used as a deep conditioner. I love this product as well. Make sure to buy virgin, organic coconut oil for all the good health benefits.

give it time

By Beryl from Aberdeen, age 70, who has been using Viviscal for three months:

I note from various reviews people comment after 3 months whereas I was told by the sales office that you have to give it 6 months. so far my hair loss has diminished but there are not other signs of improvement. I was also told that if after 6 months I see no difference I can return all the receipts and packaging and get my money back. I do hope that is true as it is an expensive product.

I would not recommend it

By Jan, age 42, who would not use Viviscal in a million years:

Viviscal claims to be 22% protein, which sounds good, but let's do the calculation. 500 mg per tablet, two tablets per day, 22% protein, that's 0.22 g of protein per day. Now women's Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for protein is 46 g per day. So, at the recommended dose, Viviscal provides less that 1/200 of the RDA.

Remember that, before being absorbed by the body, dietary protein gets broken down to amino acids and very short chains of two or three amino acids called peptides. So it's not useful to think of active proteins or essential proteins, just protein. Viviscal, used as directed, is not a significant source of dietary protein. Viviscal claims to provide Vitamin C and silica in significant quantities, but compare the price of Viviscal with a regular multivitamin. Does it look good value? In October 2008, the UK Advertising Standards Authority looked at adverts for Viviscal and found that they breached CAP Code clauses on substantiation and truthfulness. They told the suppliers of Viviscal "to amend future ads to avoid any implication that Viviscal could prevent hair loss or promote hair growth and to ensure that medicinal claims were not made in connection with Viviscal".

Viviscal Review

By Goh YauKuang from Singapore, age 45, who has been using Viviscal for three years:

I experienced thinning of hair way back as far as in my mid 20s. I have tried various over the counter (OTC) hair loss products and most didn't work as advertised. I spent thousands of dollars (close to 30K to be exact) for hair loss treatment by well established hair care center such as Yunam and Swenson Hair Care. Sad to say, it is simply just not worth the money at all. Most of these hair care centers were only interested in getting you to spend and sign up for more hair care treatment courses.

The hair care specialist in Yun Nam even had the audacity to suggest I wear a wig to cover the balding spots. The cost of the wig itself is close to several hundred dollars. When I expressed my utter dismay with the results of the several months treatments, the staffs told me that no hair care treatments are guaranteed, the irony part is though they charge a hefty sum for the hair treatments as if the results were assured. I left without completing the rest of the hair treatment course because I was completely disappointed at their lack of professionalism.

Some of the medications that I have tried (for several months# includes FDA approved Propecia #Finasteride) and topical application such as Monoxidil (Rogaine). For the first time in my life I experienced improvement in hair texture and hair regrowth. I have taken Propecia for almost 5 years and recently decided not to continue due to concerns of side effects such as low libido and also because I was planning to have kids.

Even though the doctor told me there were no reported cases of side effects to family planning nevertheless the fact that pregnant women should not even though Propecia drug give me the crib. Furthermore I felt it is better to be safe than sorry.

I chanced upon Viviscal and decided to give it a try. I am completely amazed by this product. Within weeks after I took it, my hair became thicker and hair regrowth visible on thining portion of the scalp. I do not experience any side effects and am absolutely satisfied with this product. It's a pity though the price is kind of expensive but the positive results are definitely worth the money. All in all I would give a 4 out of 5 stars for this excellent product.

Does not work for male pattern baldness

By Niels from Denmark, age 42, who has been using Viviscal for four months:

I bought four boxes of Viviscal after reading many positive reviews of it on the Internet and now, as I am finishing my last pills, I can tell you this product does nothing to improve hair loss condition in male patients suffering from characteristic pattern baldness. It can work fine in women with overprocessed hair but not in balding men.

Amazing product!

By Andrea from Fairless Hills, PA, age 27, who has been using Viviscal for six months:

For me, this product is nothing short of fabulous!! I have had thin, stringy, blonde hair my entire life. I've tried pretty much every product on the market, including herbal and natural remedies. Nothing worked. I saw this product in a women's beauty product catalogue and decided to give it a try. With continued use, my hair grew longer and faster and actually grew in thicker! I always wear my hair up because I was so embarrassed that it was thin. When I wore it down, my entire family commented on how noticeably thick it had gotten. I stopped using the product because I couldn't afford it anymore and there were no negative side effects...i.e., my hair didn't fall out, thin out, etc. I am going to start using it again to see if I get increased results. HIGHLY recommend this product! And yes, I am a REAL customer.
